Preparation
AFCAT Preparation Strategy & Common Mistakes
To improve your chances of clearing AFCAT 2027 on your first attempt, follow a focused and well-planned preparation strategy.
01
Strengthen Arithmetic and Verbal Reasoning
AFCAT tests both logical ability and numerical aptitude. Practise arithmetic, mental calculations, reasoning questions, vocabulary, and verbal ability regularly. Improving speed and accuracy in these areas can help you manage the examination more effectively.
02
Focus on Accuracy
Since incorrect answers attract negative marks, avoid unnecessary guessing. Prioritise accuracy over attempting every question. A well-balanced approach with confident and carefully selected attempts can help maximise your overall score.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Ignoring current affairs and static General Knowledge.
- Not practising previous-year questions and mock tests under actual examination time limits.
- Focusing only on the written examination and postponing physical fitness preparation until the results are announced.
A strong AFCAT preparation plan should combine consistent practice, accuracy, time management, current affairs awareness, and physical readiness.
