Both male and female candidates can apply for the NDA written exam after passing or appearing in Class 12th. Preparation
NDA Preparation Strategy & Common Mistakes
To improve your chances of clearing the UPSC NDA examination on your first attempt, follow a focused and disciplined preparation strategy.
01
Make Mathematics a Daily Priority
Mathematics plays a crucial role in the NDA written examination. Candidates must meet the required sectional qualifying marks in Mathematics to remain competitive in the written stage. Build strong conceptual understanding and practise consistently, with special focus on important areas such as trigonometry, algebra, geometry, and calculus. Learning efficient problem-solving techniques can also help improve speed and accuracy.
02
Strengthen English and Science
The General Ability Test offers significant scoring opportunities through English and the Science sections. Regularly work on grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, Physics, Chemistry, and General Science. Strong performance in these areas can significantly improve your overall written examination score.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Ignoring Mathematics and depending heavily on the General Ability Test to compensate.
- Attempting too many questions without considering negative marking.
- Focusing only on the written examination and postponing spoken English, communication skills, and physical fitness preparation until the results are announced.
